Junior School Curriculum
The Junior School program is based around an integrated curriculum that stimulates creativity and curiosity. Our students are offered an enriching, caring and inclusive educational environment. Strategies to promote independence, collaboration, adaptability, resilience, creativity, optimism and responsibility are embedded in everyday learning.
The Junior School curriculum runs as follows:
Core Curriculum
• Literacy
• Numeracy
• Inquiry Units
• Science
Specialist Curriculum
• Language (Chinese)
• Music
• Library
• Agriculture (Year Five/Six)
• Religious and Values
Our Junior School students are supported to take responsibility for their own learning and actively work to achieve their best.
At Cobram AGS, we view every child as a unique individual with different needs and aspirations. With this in mind, we tailor our approach to working with each student to ensure the best possible learning outcomes. With careful attention and planning, our Foundation to Year Six students are supported, included and encouraged to build a strong sense of belonging as they move through the Junior School setting.
As students progress through our Junior School, their learning is underpinned by building the foundations they will need to experience success in their future academic endeavours as the curriculum becomes more challenging. There is a particular focus on the consolidation of fundamental literacy and numeracy skills, as well as fostering the skills of critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity.
