School Life - Developing skill sets, strategies and game sense

Physical activity in any form is seen as a lifelong benefit to an individual’s overall well-being. Sport plays a huge part in our Australian society and here, at Cobram Anglican Grammar School, we have a dedicated program presented by passionate specialist staff that encourages students to be involved and participating to the best of their ability in a variety of sports, enhancing and developing skill sets, strategies and game sense.

At Cobram Anglican Grammar School, we cater for the best preparation of individuals and teams through in and after hours training. This has seen a number of students progress to involvement at Victorian State events, particularly in Cross-country, Athletics and Badminton. In the not too distant future, we are hoping to get the gymnasium equipped to further enhance training techniques and programs and open the door for more athletic success. We also enlist the assistance of parents or sporting groups with unique knowledge and experience to help present content. This has allowed the students to be involved in such sports as Muay Thai, Golf, Lawn Bowls and Swimming.

As part of the Goulburn-Murray Division, in both Primary and Secondary sport, we are able to offer student involvement in interschool sports days and tournaments (Primary – soccer, netball, Milo T20 Blast cricket; Secondary – basketball, volleyball, clay-target shooting, netball, badminton, lawn bowls, ten-pin bowling, table tennis, cricket and lawn tennis) as well as the 3 major events for the year being: Swimming, Cross-country and Athletics.

Exciting times ahead on the sporting front as we continue to grow at Cobram Anglican Grammar School.
