GM Primary Divsion Swimming Champs | Term 1| Week 5

Wow!!! What a performance from our Year 3-6 swim team, who participated in the 2020 Goulburn-Murray Primary Division meet! Of the 23 students who represented the school, 20 have qualified for the Hume Region event, which will be held in Shepparton next Wednesday, 4th March!

An amazing day for the students and the school! Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who came along to support their child/children/team! The fantastic support and encouragement is always greatly appreciated!

Work Experience | Term 1| Week 5

Year 11 student Jock McAuliffe is on work experience with Avery Cabinets this week. Work experience is a fantastic way to explore your career options first hand, and this week is no exception.

Jock is currently undertaking a VET Building and Construction Certificate at GO TAFE on Wednesday to compliment his VCE. This placement will not only support Jock's VET training but will open up avenues to other trade employment opportunities.

Nick Avery is a talented local Cabinet Maker who completed his schooling in Cobram and undertook an apprenticeship in Cabinetry locally also. Nick reflected on his placements from when he was at school and how it helped him to get to where he is today.

We appreciate our host employers and the time they commit to our students. Thanks to Nick and the team at Avery Cabinets for supporting Jock this week!

Shrove Tuesday | Term 1| Week 5

Did you know Shrove Tuesday is the day before Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The name Shrove comes from the old middle English word 'Shriven' meaning to go to confession to say sorry for the wrong things you've done.

Pancake Day, comes from the old English custom of using up all the fattening ingredients in the house before Lent, so that people were ready to fast during Lent.

Our Foundation students are pictured here enjoying some lovely pancakes in celebration of Shrove Tuesday, thanks Mrs Lee! Yum!
